Judging Rabbits - Winner's Circle
Here is a brief breakdown of the process for judging rabbits based in order of importance.
BIS - Best in Show
RIS - Reserve in Show or 1st Runner-up
In order to win the coveted BIS - Best in Show, the entry must win in the following categories first before they can qualify for the Best in Show. The following awards are awarded regardless of whether the rabbit is a buck or doe.
BOB - Best of Breed - If it is a doe then a buck will be opposite and vice versa.
BOSB - Best Opposite Sex Breed (see above).
BOV - Best of Variety - When judging rabbits the variety is determined by the color of the rabbit. If a buck wins then a doe is opposite or vice versa.
BOSV - Best Opposite Sex Variety (see above).
